Resumen
Los centros de investigación en educación superior desempeñan un papel fundamental en el desarrollo del conocimiento, la innovación y el avance tecnológico. Estas instituciones permiten la generación de nuevos conocimientos, la formación de investigadores y la mejora de la calidad educativa. Infraestructuralmente, estos centros deben contar con laboratorios modernos, bibliotecas especializadas y espacios colaborativos que faciliten el trabajo en equipo. Su impacto positivo se refleja en el desarrollo económico, el progreso científico y la resolución de problemáticas sociales. Existen diferencias notables entre centros de primer nivel, intermedios y de países en desarrollo, las cuales se evidencian en sus recursos, financiamiento y capacidad de innovación. Este trabajo analiza la importancia de estos centros, sus características principales y los beneficios que aportan a la educación superior y la sociedad en general.

Abstract
Higher education research centers play a fundamental role in the development of knowledge, innovation and technological progress. These institutions allow the generation of new knowledge, the training of researchers and the improvement of the quality of education. Infrastructurally, these centers must have modern laboratories, specialized libraries and collaborative spaces that facilitate teamwork. Its positive impact is reflected in economic development, scientific progress and the resolution of social problems. There are notable differences between first-level, intermediate, and developing country centers, which are evident in their resources, financing, and innovation capacity. This paper analyzes the importance of these centers, their main characteristics and the benefits they bring to higher education and society in general.
